十全۰Maggie Foo, Malaysia — Performer, Costume Designer, Innovation Director

An ever enthusiastic dancer, 十全۰Maggie Foo took ballet lessons as a youngster. After graduating from high school, her teacher had arranged for her to go overseas to advance her dancing skills. However, due to financial difficulties at home and the need to look after her Down’s Syndrome younger sister, she had to abandon the golden opportunity. Later, when she got married, it appeared that her dream of becoming a dance artiste was completely shattered. In 2011, 十全۰Maggie met Bai Shi Yin Guang Bo, and it was pivotal in realising her dream of dancing.

Bai Shi Yin Guang Bo arranged many opportunities, like sending her to undergo intensive training at Xiamen Da Wu Wen Feng Cultural Arts, Xiamen, with lessons directly from Master Xiong Jiwen, the Founder of the Cultural Arts Institute and an Executive Director of the Closing Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics; establishing BSY Cultural Arts’ Ipoh branch of the Art of Wisdom-Light Ensembles; and providing opportunities to co-ordinate dance programmes, choreography, and putting creativity to work. Since then, her exquisite costume designs and creative dance repertoire have attracted the attention of audiences from various places. In 2013, the team was invited to perform at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the National Chinese Cultural Festival of Malaysia, a very honoured and rare opportunity treasured immensely by 十全۰Maggie.

So far, not only does 十全۰Maggie partake in performances and choreography, but also in the opportunity of having multi-generational involvement of her mother and daughter in joint stage appearances, and in the participation of co-ordinating stage and backstage creative works.
